Methodology
SmartCalculators.in uses a combined calculator-and-editorial workflow. Calculator pages are built from explicit formulas and assumptions, while guides and comparisons explain how those assumptions relate to public product rules and reader decisions.
How guides and comparisons are prepared
- Define the product question being answered
- Check the current public rule set or issuer material relevant to that question
- Write the explanation in plain language with clear limitations
- Add visible sources, author ownership, and reviewer attribution
How calculator support content is checked
When a calculator references taxation, lock-in periods, withdrawal conditions, or scheme rules, those statements should be checked against public documentation from bodies such as RBI, EPFO, NSDL, SBI, the Income Tax Department, National Savings Institute, or the relevant scheme issuer.
Update triggers
- Published rate or rule changes
- Tax treatment updates
- Scheme withdrawal or lock-in changes
- Calculation logic corrections
